Kelly Uphoff is the Chief Technology Officer at Tala, a global financial technology company exclusively for the underbanked. Customers use Tala to start and expand small businesses, manage day-to-day needs, and pursue their financial goals with confidence.
Before joining Tala, Kelly had a decade-long career at Netflix. There, she was instrumental in building out experimentation (A/B) practice impacting product and marketing strategies, and the company’s test & learn decision-making culture. She was also a key product executive bridging worlds of product and content; tech and creative, built and led data engineering, data product, analytics, data science, and machine learning teams in LA, inventing novel approaches around using data and data products for content acquisition and investment and marketing. Kelly is passionate about building products that are intelligent (use data in creative and impactful ways), and user-friendly with high standards of data ethics (inclusion) and privacy.
